He was from an island somewhere in the Pacific and when I asked him about his homeland, he made the comment that he really missed living by island time. Not knowing exactly what he meant, I asked what this was, and his answer really awakened me as to how we exist in the high tech world in which we live.

I used about 2 lbs of chicken (bone-in simply because that is all I had) with an onion and a bit of red pepper, plus some chicken broth and spices. Cooked perfectly in 15 minutes. I just had to remove it from the bone and shred it and it was set to be served. I adhered to a slow cooker duck that stated to cook it on low for eight hours, but I utilized the pressure cooker function for 15 minutes and it was juicy and yummy. I can’t recommend this item enough.

Service was prompt, courteous and attentive. The waiters made us feel very pampered. We ordered wine and looked at the menu. Now the Signature Room in not cheap. I had told my companion that the restaurant was expensive, but think he was surprised at just what Chicago expensive means. You have to expect to pay for preparing a whole duck table in a restaurant with the best views in town.

North Pond. This restaurant has a beautiful location in Lincoln Park, at the edge of a pond that with views of the Chicago skyline. The building was originally a warming shelter for ice skaters and has been redesigned according to Arts and Crafts tradition.
